Halter Workout Tank Tops, Square Neck 2 Pack, Built in Bra

Two tanks, one neck band each, and nothing to adjust
The bag holds two of the same tank in two colours, both in one size. That one sentence decides most of what follows: you cannot take one up a size and leave the other, and you cannot keep one colour and send the other back.

What this tank does not have is a slider. Follow the neck band around and you will find a short flat seam at the back of the neck where the loop is closed. A cami with a slider can be set to your own measurement and will hold that setting until the hardware gives. Here there is no setting to lose and nothing plastic resting against the spine, but there is also no second chance on fit. The band under the bust carries the tank; the neck band only keeps the front from tipping away. If the fit is wrong, size is the thing to change.

Wide where it leaves the chest, narrow behind the neck
The band is not one width. It comes up wide off the chest and tapers to about half that where it passes behind the neck. The taper is the whole reason a wide halter behaves differently from a string one. A narrow band puts the load on two small points either side of the neck; widen it and the load spreads across the side of the neck and the top of the chest, which is why this one can be worn for an hour without a line across the throat.

It changes how the front sits too. A thin halter pulls the neckline up to a point. A wide band pulls it up as a plane, so a square neck stays square instead of drawing in toward a V under tension.

The back stops at the shoulder blades
Below the neck loop there is skin until the horizontal band that crosses under the shoulder blades. That band is the bra. In practice it means nothing sits on the blades to rub when you row or press, and there is no second strap line to line up under a racerback top. The cost is that the back adds no support at all. All of it is the band under the bust, and everything that goes wrong with the fit starts there.

Which is also why the armhole is cut where it is. Set it higher and the band has to climb with it; set it lower and the front panel loses the tension that keeps the square from standing away when you lean forward.

Square in front, with the corners taken off
The front edge runs straight across and turns down at both ends on a small radius rather than a hard corner. A true square gapes the moment you bend, because the fabric is held only at the shoulders and a straight edge has nowhere to give. Here the front is one knitted panel tensioned from the band below, so the edge stays against the chest when you fold forward, and the rounding is what keeps the two corners from lifting off the body.

Two colours in the bag, and what that costs
The line is listed in nine colours: black, beige, red, navy, plum, nude pink, chocolate brown, butter yellow and light pink. The pack pairs two of them. Two at once is the cheaper way to own this tank per piece, and two colours cover more of a week than one. What it does not do is let you choose. If you want a single colour, or a single tank to try before committing, this is the wrong listing to start with, and no amount of reading a size chart will fix that.

Three of the six photos show shorts that are not in the bag
Photos two, four and six show the tank worn with matching high waist shorts, on a model and in a gym. The shorts are not part of this pack. Two tanks ship, in the two colours the listing title names. This paragraph is here because those three photos are convincing, and a return is an expensive way to find out.
