Womens Capri Jumpsuit, Seamless Adjustable Strap One Piece

A one piece that leaves the house
Most seamless one pieces are built for a room: racerback, high neck, a hem that stops short. This one is cut for the street. The neck is a wide scoop in front, the back is the same curve dropped lower, and both edges are bound in the same knit. A bound edge is what keeps a scoop lying flat instead of curling after three washes, and it is the difference between a garment you wear to a class and one you wear out of it. The Paris and London photographs are not styling: the bound edge is why they work.

The straps are the adjustable part
Each shoulder carries one strap, about a centimetre wide, with a metal slider at the top of the front edge. That is worth saying plainly, because the two closest pieces in this line do not have it: the racerback version is sewn to a fixed length, and the halter version ties behind the neck. A slider gives roughly two centimetres of travel, which is the difference between a neckline that crosses the collarbone and one that sits above it. Shorten both, then pull the back edge up until it lands where you want it.

Capri, and what the length is for
The leg stops sixteen and a half inches from the crotch, below the knee and above the calf. On a bike that clears the pedal at the bottom of the stroke; on a reformer it clears the carriage; kneeling, it covers the knee. What it does not do is keep you warm. A full length version of this cut exists, and the choice between them is temperature rather than style.

Ribbed, and why nothing is printed
The knit carries a fine vertical rib from shoulder to hem. The photographs show it clearly; the bullet points never mention it. Ribbing does two things a flat knit cannot: it draws in across the body without elastic, which is where the waist comes from, and it breaks up the surface so the piece reads as a knit rather than as a swimsuit. Because the rib is structural there is no print, no logo and no colour blocking anywhere on it: four solid colours and nothing else.

The seat is smooth
There is no gathered seam down the centre of the back and no V-shaped dip in the waistband. What there is, is a curved panel line running around the outside of each glute, which shapes the seat without pulling fabric together. If you want the scrunch effect, this is not the piece that gives it.

Pads, and where the support stops
The bust holds a removable pad behind a bound slit at the bottom of the cup. What it does not have is a second band under the ribs: the underbust is knit, not elastic. For yoga, Pilates and walking that is enough. For running it is not, and a bra underneath will show at the back, because the back is cut low enough to clear a standard band.

Four colours, five sizes, two lengths
Black, brown, navy and plum; five sizes, and two inseams inside the same listing. The page states both, and the only combination it shows is plum in a medium at sixteen and a half inches, which is what the photographs were taken in. Between sizes, the knit gives about a size at the hip: take the smaller one for a close line, the larger if you want the seam to sit away from the body.

What it is not
Not the racerback version, which has an oval opening in the middle of the back and straps that cannot be adjusted. Not the halter version, which ties behind the neck and carries no slider. And not a shape to wear under clothes: it is a finished garment, worn on its own, which is the point of it.
