Two pieces that survive on their own
A set only earns its price if both halves work alone. The top is a real sports bra: scoop neck, ribbed underband, one removable pad each side, nothing to hook or zip. The bottom is a mid thigh short, not a three inch booty short, so the hem sits above the knee crease and covers the inner thigh when you walk. Wear them together on the gym floor, or take the short with a tank and the bra under a shirt. Neither piece looks like it is waiting for its other half.
Where the neck and the back open
The scoop is cut low enough to show the collarbone and high enough that nothing shifts when you hinge forward. At the back the two straps run into a racerback yoke, and the panel beneath it is opened up: a cutout either side of the spine, which is where a heated room stops feeling like a heated room. That yoke is also why the straps behave. They pull down and toward the centre of the back instead of sliding off the point of the shoulder.
The V is a seam, not a fold
Turn around and the back waist dips into a shallow V toward the spine. It is a seam cut into the waistband panel, not a band folded back on itself, so there is no doubled edge to curl in the machine. What it buys is proportion: the eye takes the top of the band as the waist, and the centre seam runs down from the point of the V to split the seat. The high waist covers the stomach rather than compressing it, one ribbed band, no shaping panel and no boning, so the lift you see is placement rather than padding.
What the knit does under load
Ninety percent polyamide, ten percent elastane, knitted as one tube. High stretch, light in the hand, dense enough that a full squat does not turn it transparent, which is why the squat is in the photo set. No seam runs down the front of the short, so there is no ridge to cut in at the crotch and nothing to chafe on a long walk. Wash it cold and let it dry flat, and pull the pads out before it goes in, or they crease and never sit smooth again.
Three sizes, three colors
S through L, and black, brown or navy. There is no XS and no XL, which is a limit of the range rather than a marketing choice: if you sit at either end of the size chart, this set is not the one. Between two sizes the knit gives, so the smaller of the two is the close fit and the larger is the relaxed one, and both still move. The side seams are bare, no logo, no pocket flap, so under a shirt on the way to the studio it reads as a plain short and a crop top.
